Katia Clément-Heydra (BA '14), received the Gladys Bean Trophy as McGill's female athlete of the year in 2014, graduating that year with an Arts degree in industrial relations. A team captain with the Martlets, she capped a spectacular senior season by winning the Brodrick Trophy as the CIS most outstanding player in 2013-14. The 5-foot-7 centre played five seasons, from 2010 to 2015, and was a three-time league all-star and a two-time All-Canadian. Clément-Heydra led McGill to three RSEQ conference crowns and two national championship titles.
Including non-conference and post-season play, she appeared in 206 games overall at McGill and still ranks second on the team's all-time list for most games, fourth in goals (121), second in assists (177) and third in points (298). Clément-Heydra never missed a league game with the Martlets, playing in exactly 100 regular season contests and posting a 75-103-178 record, while collecting only 16 penalty minutes. She also enjoyed international success, helping Canada win gold at the 2013 FISU world university winter games in Italy, where she finished second in tournament scoring with a stellar 5-13-18 record in only seven contests. She went on to play professionally in Sweden and helped guide the Montreal Canadiennes of the former Canadian Women's Hockey League to win a Clarkson Cup championship and served as manager of team services and game operations with the PWHL's New York Sirens in 2023-24.
