Adam Mar, a native of Pte. Claire, Que., had a distinguished five-year playing career with the soccer Redmen, from 1991 to 1995, before a nine-year stint on the team's coaching staff including four seasons as head coach. A five-time Quebec conference all-star, the 5-foot-11 defender twice merited all-Canadian honours. Mar served his last four seasons as co-captain of the Redmen and won the Bill Searles Trophy as Team MVP in his final campaign. He graduated in 1994 with a science degree, majoring in neurobiology, followed by a master's degree and a PhD from McGill. He went on to serve as a research assistant at the University of Cambridge and is currently an assistant professor at the New York University school of medicine.
