Dr. Donald Taylor (DDS '66), who entered the Hall at age 83, is a retired orthodontist who played six seasons of football from 1960 to 1965, helping McGill win Yates Cup league championships in 1960 and 1962, in addition to the Churchill Trophy title as national champs in 1960. The native of Lachine, Que., also toiled for two seasons with the varsity hockey team, where he played centre.
During his football days, Taylor was an imposing 6-foot-1, 195-pound offensive end who tallied nine touchdowns and also played at defensive back, where he picked off nine interceptions in six seasons. He was voted as a football conference all-star in four of his six years, adding a fifth all-star honour in 1964 when he had the rare distinction of being voted on both offence and defence. He served four years as one of the captains and was a four-time recipient of the team's Fred Wigle Trophy as most sportsmanlike player.
