Benjamin Walsh, was born on Sept. 18, 1985 in Perth, Australia. He was raised in Vancouver, B.C., and is currently employed down under in Sydney. The 6-foot-1, 292-pound offensive lineman was recruited out of Vancouver College. At the age of 17, he made the dress roster in Week 5 of his freshman year at McGill in 2003 and earned a starting spot for the team's final three contests. He ended up starting in 34 consecutive league and playoff games over his five seasons at McGill, primarily at right guard but also saw some duty at centre and tackle. He merited co-captain status in his third year and served three seasons in that capacity.

A two-time RSEQ conference all-star, he twice earned All-Canadian honours, making the first team as a sophomore in 2004 and the second-team as a senior in 2006. He was twice selected to play in the CIS East-West Bowl, an all-star game for CFL prospects, and was invited to attend the 2007 CFL Combines draft evaluation camp.

A recipient of multiple team awards, he won the Touchdown Club Trophy three times as most outstanding lineman (2004-2006), the Fred Wigle Memorial Trophy as most sportsmanlike player (2006) and the Charlie Baillie Trophy as most outstanding team player (2007).

Walsh served on both, the team's player committee and the Varsity Sports Council. He majored in political science, graduated with a bachelor of arts in 2008 and is currently a senior director at Morrow Sodali, a global consulting firm in Australia that provides comprehensive corporate governance and shareholder engagement services.
