MONTREAL - Julia Bahen of Vancouver, B.C., and Jeremy Hurdle of Ambler, Penn., are the McGill University athletes of the week, sponsored by Ye Olde Orchard Pub & Grill, for the period ending Aug. 26, 2012.

Bahen, a 5-foot-8 midfielder on the women's soccer team, score a pair of key goals in two weekend games, helping McGill capture the Old Four tournament in Toronto. The 21-year-old international development studies senior scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 88th minute of a 2-1 win over Western in the gold medal game on Sunday. Bahen also tallied in penalty kicks the previous day as McGill edged Toronto 2-1. She opened the shootout session with a goal en route to a 3-1 shootout victory. Prior to enrolling at McGill in 2009, Bahen attended York House School in Vancouver.

Hurdle, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound midfielder and team captain on the men's soccer team, also tallied twice in as many games as McGill claimed bronze in the Old Four tourney. The 22-year-old geography senior scored the winning marker in the 69th minute as the Redmen edged Queen's 2-1 to claim the bronze medal match, Sunday. The day before, he netted the tying marker in the 76th minute to force a shootout session in a game that McGill eventually lost 2-1 to host Toronto.  Hurdle is a product of Wissahickon high school in Pennsylvania.

Both athletes will receive a gift certificate from Ye Olde Orchard Pub.
