Dominic Talbot-Tassi of Mascouche, Que., and
Myriam Robitaille of Terrebonne, Que., are the McGill University athletes of the week, sponsored by Ye Olde Orchard Pub, for the period ending Nov. 6, 2016.
Talbot-Tassi, a 22-year-old civil engineering sophomore with the hockey Redmen, collected six assists in two victories as McGill defeated UQTR 6-5 on the road and dumped Laurentian at home last Wednesday and Saturday, respectively. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound defenceman collected three assists in each contest. Talbot-Tassi, who received the Guy Lafleur Award of Excellence from the QMJHL in 2015, is having a stellar campaign and is currently tied for second among the nation’s top-scoring blueliners with 14 points, including 13 assists in nine games.
Robitaille, a six-foot middle blocker with the volleyball Martlets, scored 40.5 points in a pair of 3-2 weekend victories versus Sherbrooke (Nov. 4) and at UQAM (Nov. 5). The 22-year-old French literature junior registered 33 kills with five aces, 2.5 stuff blocks and a couple of digs. A product of College Edouard-Montpetit, she enrolled at McGill in 2014.
