MONTREAL –
William Rouleau of St. Basile de Portneuf, Que., and
Sonia Dunn from Ottawa, are the McGill University athletes of the week, presented by
Restaurant Poulet Rouge, for the period ending Nov. 17, 2024.
Rouleau, a 23-year-old management junior with the hockey Redbirds, scored four points in a pair of come-from-behind road victories last weekend. The six-foot, 177-pound centre assisted on two goals in Friday's 4-3 overtime victory at Waterloo, then scored once and added an assist on the winning marker in Saturday's 3-2 conquest over the Brock Badgers in Thorold, Ont. He now has tallied nine points in six regular season games. Rouleau was recruited to McGill in 2002 out of the QMJHL, where he starred with Chicoutimi and Rouyn-Noranda.
Dunn, a 19-year-old science sophomore, had a brilliant debut with the Martlets artistic swim squad, leading them to victory last Saturday. She won all three of her events at the McGill Invitational, a competition that featured 131 athletes from nine different institutions. Dunn finished first in the experienced category for the solo, duet and team routines. A product of Woodroffe High School in the Ottawa area, she enrolled at McGill in 2023 but didn't join the varsity team until this year.
