MONTREAL – Football player Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald of Montreal and soccer’s Chloe Renaud from St. Hubert, Que., are the McGill University athletes of the week, presented by Restaurant Poulet Rouge, for the period ending Sept. 8, 2024.

Latendresse-Regimbald, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound quarterback with the Redbirds, rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another as McGill registered its first victory in Sherbrooke since 2017, a 29-26 decision before a crowd of 7,127 last Friday. The 23-year-old physical education junior threw for a personal best 422 yards, completing 20 of 38 attempts with no interceptions. He also rushed for an additional 113 yards on 11 carries. His passing performance ranks as the 10th highest single-game yardage total in McGill’s football history, which is celebrating its 150th year in 2024. His rushing yardage was the third-highest total by a quarterback in the McGill record book.

Renaud, a 5-foot-5 midfielder with the Martlets, scored two goals in McGill’s 4-0 shutout at Sherbrooke on Sept. 6, helping the team extend its undefeated record to 3-0.  She opened the scoring with what proved to be the game-winner in the 18th minute of play and made it 3-0 by the 39-minute mark. A 21-year-old psychology junior, Renaud currently leads the RSEQ conference with four goals in three games. The two-time RSEQ conference all-star enrolled at McGill in 2022 from Champlain College in St. Lambert, Que.

McGill athlete of the week award recipients receive a gift certificate from Restaurant Poulet Rouge, serving healthy and balanced meals since 2017.
