MONTREAL – Julien Pouliot of Boucherville, Que., and Katia Clement-Heydra from St. Bruno de Montarville, Que., are the McGill University athletes of the week, sponsored by Ye Olde Orchard Pub, for the period ending Nov. 2, 2014.

Pouliot, a 6-foot-1, 162-pound member of the rowing team, won silver in the men's single at the Canadian university championships on Elk Lake at Victoria, B.C., on Sunday. The 24-year-old completed the 1,750-metre course in seven minutes, 18.69 seconds.  A first-year certificate student in applied marketing, Pouliot joined the McGill rowing team this fall after graduating from Université Laval, where he was a distance runner in both track and cross-country. He is a product of Collège Edouard-Montpetit.

Clement-Heydra, a 5-foot-7 centre and team captain with the hockey Martlets, scored four points, including a shorthanded game-winning goal, in a 7-1 victory over Ottawa last Saturday. The 24-year-old, who ranks third among RSEQ scoring leaders with 2-4-6 in three games, is a fifth-year industrial relations major.  Before joining the Martlets in 2010, she played for College Edouard-Montpetit.

Both athletes will receive a gift certificate from Ye Olde Orchard Pub.
