OTTAWA — McGill's offence fired on all cylinders Saturday as the Redbirds rolled to a 45-19 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees in RSEQ men's rugby action at Matt Anthony Field.

McGill (3-1-0) crossed the try line seven times to secure a bonus point for the third time in four outings this season. Elliot Descarreaux, Roberto Frascione, Chaz Grenier, Brad Hunger, Caylan MacLean, Ian McDowell and Nicolas Vicente Louis each touched down, while Martin Laval added five conversions.

Ottawa (0-4-0) replied with tries from Taylor Bothwell and Josh Seguin, with Ben Holahan kicking two conversions. Seguin also added a penalty goal for the home side.

With two games remaining before playoffs, McGill sits second in the seven-team conference with 15 points — five back of division-leading ETS (4-0-0) and three ahead of third-place Montreal (2-1-1).

The Redbirds will enjoy a bye week before hosting the Carabins in a pivotal matchup at Percival Molson Stadium on Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. Ottawa will seek its first win of the season when it faces Montreal on Oct. 4.

McGill (3-1-0) a franchi la ligne d'essai à sept reprises, s'assurant ainsi un point bonus pour la troisième fois en quatre matchs cette saison. Elliot Descarreaux, Roberto Frascione, Chaz Grenier, Brad Hunger, Caylan MacLean, Ian McDowell et Nicolas Vicente Louis ont chacun marqué un essai, tandis que Martin Laval a ajouté cinq transformations.

Ottawa (0-4-0) a répliqué avec des essais de Taylor Bothwell et Josh Seguin, Ben Holahan réussissant deux transformations. Seguin a également ajouté un but de pénalité pour l'équipe locale.
