QUEBEC CITY – Pole vaulter
Rosalie Lupien of Longueuil, Que., qualified for Nationals with a gold medal performance, while Montrealer
Donna Ntambue collected a pair of silvers and a bronze to highlight the McGill women's track and field results at the RSEQ championships, a two-day meet that concluded on Saturday at the Centre PEPS in the Quebec provincial capital.

The Martlets produced 11 podiums – with one gold medal, five silvers and five bronzes – en route to finishing third of 10 teams overall. No McGill records fell. All gold medalists earn first-team all-star honours and automatically qualify for the  U SPORTS national championships, while silver medalists merit second team all-star status.

Laval won the women's banner for the sixth consecutive season. They scored 227 points, followed by Montreal (153.5), McGill (106), Sherbrooke (75), Carleton (34.5), UQAM (14), UQAC (12), ETS (10), Concordia (5) and UQTR (5).

Lupien, who stands 5-foot-3, cleared a height of 3.45 metres. It marked a personal best height for the 22-year-old economics senior, who surpassed her previous high of 3.30m that was first achieved at the RSEQ title meet in 2022.

Ntambue, a 5-foot-9 sprinter, finished second in the 60-metre race, crossing the finish line in 7.33 seconds, just .01 off her school record set last month. She also ran the leadoff leg of the 4x200 relay that finished second (1:42.35) and the 4x400 quartet that finished third (4:55.55). Ntambue, who turns 23 years old Monday (Feb. 26), is an Hispanic studies sophomore who transferred to McGill last year after consuming three years of collegiate eligibility in the NCAA.

Felicitas Zahlbruckner, an exchange student from Graz, in Austria, tied Ntambue with 11.5 of McGill's 106 points. The first-year distance runner scored in four different events, including silver on the 4x200, bronze in the 300m and bronze in the 4x400.

Other members of the 4x200 were
Ellie Donahue and
Bethany Walton-Knight. The 4x400 also included
Audrey Gilmour and Walton-Knoght.

Other silver medal performances were posted by
Rebecca Warcholak (triple jump),
Ella Villeneuve (weight throw) and the
4x800 relay squad, a group composed of
Abigail McIntosh,
Arowyn Fitzpatrick,
Sophie Rashid-Cocker and
Marianne Lanctot.

Rounding out McGill's medal count was bronze medal performances from
Emily Roest (high jump),
Annika Burkard (triple jump) and
Leila McFarland (pentathlon).

Next on tap will be the U SPORTS national championship meet in Winnipeg, March 7-9
