MONTREAL – Three football players from McGill University are among 140 prospects selected to participate at the CFL Invitational Combine and hopefully the main CFL Combine camp in March in preparation for the league's 2023 draft, slated for May 2.
 
Attendees from the McGill Redbirds include tight end Simon Crevier (5-11, 221), a mechanical engineering senior from Ile-Perrot, Que., linebacker Darcy Jeannis (6-1, 210), an Arts major from Laval, Que., and offensive lineman Alexandre Marcoux (6-2, 295), a physical education senior from Levis, Que.
 
The McGill trio will be attending the CFL Invitational Combine on March 3 at Feridun Hamdullahpur Field House on the campus of the University of Waterloo. The top draft-eligible players identified in the Invitational Combine will earn their way to the main event in Edmonton, March 22-26. The newly formatted CFL Invitational Combine replaces the traditional regional combines.
 
In addition to the attendees who advance through the Invitational Combine, the main camp in Edmonton will feature the top prospects eligible for the draft, as well as the players hoping to be selected at the 2023 CFL Global Draft. Approximately 20 international prospects from around the globe are expected to take part.
 
On March 21, general managers and head coaches will conduct virtual media availabilities from noon to 3 p.m. (Mountain).
 
Day 1 of the Combine will feature medical testing and measurements, while Day 2 includes traditional on- and off-field testing, including the 40-yard dash, the bench press and more.
 
Days 3-5 will be designated for practice sessions involving individual drills and one-on-ones that have been conducted in years past, and several new additions, including the pass skeleton and inside run sessions. As part of the new format, CFL coaches will lead positional groups and install offences and defences.
