ALMA MATTERS (Ep. 6): Mark Hantho: from McGill rugby to shaping world markets

Mark Hantho (BCom '81) is featured in the sixth episode of McGill Athletics and Recreation's new podcast series Alma Matters

A former McGill rugby player, he went on to become a leader in world markets. Hantho's résumé includes Citigroup Inc. (Vice-Chairman, Banking, Capital Markets) and Made by McGill (Campaign Executive, the Campaign for Our Third Century, Member of the McGill Regional Advisory Board).

Before joining Citigroup, he was Chairman and Global Head, at Deutsche Bank and also past Head of ECM North America for Morgan Stanley as well as for Bank of America. His global expertise and perspective stems from eight years in London and five in Hong Kong.

Mark met his wife Monica when the two were students at McGill, and over the years they two have consistently shown their commitment to the McGill through extensive volunteering and generous support.

"My path to get to McGill was not straightforward. It initially was the love of Montreal, my roots. McGill is where I found my passion in business, the combination of finance and people. It is the place that set me up for a global voyage that opened the world to my family – including my wife – and to many inspired friends."
