QUEBEC CITY -- Kim Tremblay scored one goal and set up another as the undefeated and No.1 ranked Laval Rouge et Or blanked visiting McGill 5-0 in RSEQ women's soccer at Stade Telus on Sunday.

It was the fourth victory in as many games for the Rouge et Or, who have now outscored opponents 12-1. The five goals against matched a McGill single-game record -- previously established by Laval on Sept. 25, 2016 -- for most goals allowed in regular-season play since women's soccer's inaugural season under the old CIAU banner in 1987. Laval also extended their unbeaten streak over the Martlets to 10-0-1 since a 3-1 McGill victory on Sept. 9, 2012 in Quebec City, including nine straight wins, dating back to a 0-0 draw on Oct. 27, 2013.

Mireille Patry opened the scoring for the Rouge et Or in the 28th minute. Two goals in the final minute of the opening half -- by Marie-Mychèle Métivier and Joëlle Gosselin -- put the game out of reach heading into the intermission.

"It was tough to play two games in less than 48 hours against Top 10 teams like Montreal (a 0-0 draw on Friday night) and Laval," said Jose-Luis Valdes, head coach of the Martlets. "We had a slow start with no legs in the first half and were unable to impose our game plan as Laval moved the ball super well and took top-notch shots. We weren't strong from the start and can't afford to not start strong against the No.1 team in the country. We weren't quick on the ball, weren't quick to react and defend against a team of that calibre. we allowed them to get into their groove."

Laval struck for two more quick markers barely 10 minutes into the second half, when Tremblay and Dominique Fortin scored within three minutes of each other completed the scoring.

Marie-Joëlle Vandal started in goal for Laval, turning away her only shot faced in 45 minutes before being repla. Myriam Labrecque replaced her for the second half, making four saves to maintain the clean sheet. McGill goalkeeper Sarah Dubois of Edmonton took the loss, conceding all five goals on 11 shots.

Tremblay was named Game MVP for the Rouge et Or, while Natasha Tcheki-Jamgotchian of Pierrefonds, Que., was named McGill's player of the match.

The Martlets (1-2-1) host UQAM (0-1-3) at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 at Percival Molson Stadium. Laval (4-0-0) visits Sherbrooke (1-1-2) on Friday, Sept. 22.
