Camden Lawhead sparked the offence and
Henry Dennis pitched a complete game shutout as McGill skunked the Université de Montréal 10-0 in Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association action at Gary Carter Field, Wednesday.
The result gave McGill a four-game sweep of the season series and improved the Northern Division leaders to 13-1 with two games remaining before post-season play.
After a scoreless first inning, McGill pushed across runs in each of the next four until the cotest was halted in the fifth by the mercy rule. The Redmen tallied two runs in the second and third innings, followed by a four-run fourth and two more in the fifth.
Lawhead went 2-3, drove in one, scored two runs.and stole a pair of bases. The only other multi-hit player for McGill was
Louis-Xavier Labrosse, who went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Dennis allowed just two hits while striking out five. He threw 68 pitches, 47 for strikes.

Marc-André Towner was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked five and struck out one.
McGill heads south of the border this weekend for a mini-exhibition tournament in Plattsburgh, N.Y. The Redmen are slated to play a rare tripleheader on Saturday, with games against SUNY-Plattsburgh (10 am), SUNY-Adirondack (12:30 pm) and
Académie de baseball du Canada (3 pm).
