Box Score
OTTAWA -- Alex Levis went 3-for-4 and scored one run but it was all in vain as the Ottawa pulled off a 7-4 victory over McGill in university baseball at RCGT Stadium, Saturday. The result halted McGill's four-game win streak to start the CCBA season and left the Redmen with a doubleheader split.

In a game that featured six lead changes, Ottawa took the lead for good in the fifth inning. They scored the winning run on an RBI single by Matt Deschesne off Eric Broatch, which brought home Patrick Comfort.

Broatch was saddled with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 5.2 innings, walked two and struck out four.

Levis was the only McGill player with multiple hits. He singled in the first, second, and sixth innings.

Matt Brown collected the win for Ottawa. He allowed three runs over 4.2 innings, struck out three, walked one and surrendered five hits. McGill also had no answer for Roberto Suppa, who kept runners off the basepaths in his relief appearance. The Redmen managed just one hit off of Suppa, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Chris Shute went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Gee-Gees. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

The Redmen jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Levis got things going for McGill with a single. A stolen base then moved Levis from first to second. It didn't take long for Ottawa to respond as it scored one run of its own in the first. Ottawa scored on an RBI single by Chris Shute.

McGill got one-run boosts in each of the second, fourth and fifth. In the second, They scored on an RBI single by Louis-Xavier Labrosse, plating Zach Aaron.

McGill, which dropped to 4-1, won't have to wait long for revenge as both teams return to Montreal overnight to hook up again on Sunday when Ottawa (1-2) takes on the Redmen in another doubleheader, this time on McGill's turf at Lake Road Park in suburban Dollard des Ormeaux. The first game is slated for a 12 noon start, followed by the nightcap at 3 p.m..
