KINGSTON, Ont –
Jonathan Duforest pounded out three hits, including a pair of doubles as the visiting McGill University baseball team cruised to a 7-2 preseason victory over Queen's in the opener of a doubleheader, Sunday, at Megaffin Field.
The Redmen took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair.
McGill grabbed the lead for good after a strong third inning, highlighted by Duforest's RBI double that brought home
Andre Lagarde. Duforest, who batted fifth, was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI.

Gabe Hamilton each added a pair of hits.
Rookie
Eric Broatch , who relieved McGill starter
Rocky Hroch in the fourth inning, shut down Queen's while he was on the bump. He held them hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Hodge, who started for the Gaels, was charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
McGill grabbed the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Lagarde singled, stole second base, then scored on an RBI single by
Christopher Stanford.
The Gaels quickly evened the score in the bottom of the first on a groundout by Bernicky.
McGill re-took the lead in the second inning on an RBI single by
Jared Kersh, scoring
Zach Aaron.
Queen's responded with one run in the bottom of the inning,on a steal of home plate by Babcock.
After scoring in the third and fifth, the Redmen tacked on another three runs in the seventh. A sacrifice fly scored Stanford cashed in one, followed up by
Sasha Lagarde's single which brought home Duforest and Aaron.
The victory improved McGill's record to 2-2 heading into the second game of the doubleheader.
