AJ Padmore pitched three shutout innings as the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks blanked McGill 5-0 in the opener of a men's preseason university baseball doubleheader at Betchel Park, Sunday.
Padmore struck out two, walked one and surrendered two hits.
The game was never in doubt after the second, as Laurier scored one run on an RBI-single by
Brandon Washkevich. The 'Hawks added two runs in the third inning, including one on an error which brought home Jonathan Brouse -- then followed it up with two more in the fourth.
Four different McGill players managed one hit apiece.
Adriano Petrangelo took the loss for Redmen. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
