MONTREAL --
Rob Sedin pitched a complete game four-hit shoutout as McGill coasted to a 4-0 road victory over the Université de Montréal in Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association action at Ahuntsic Park, Friday.
Sedin struck out seven and allowed just two walks in seven innings. He also drew a first-inning walk and scored the winning run in the first inning on infielder
Sam Vandry-Groleau's RBI-double.
Vandry-Groleau, who went 1-for-2 at the plate, also scored to cap a three-run rally in the third inning.
With the bases loaded in the third,
Zachary Aaron reached base on a fielder's choice, which scored
Rocky Hroch to open the scoring.
Alex Levis then reached base on another fielder's choice to score Groleau and
Owen Ryan reach base on an error which scored Aaron.
For Montreal, starting pitcher
Gabriel Delisi was charged with the loss. He gave up all four runs (two of them earned) on a pair of hits, walked four, struck out three in five innings of work.
McGill, which evened their record at 3-3, plays a rare tripleheader in Ottawa on Sept. 26, as part of a make-up date for a rained-out doubleheader two weeks ago. The first game will be the continuation of a Sept. 12 game that was halted by rain in the second inning with the teams tied at 1-1. picked up in the second inning. Due to four rainouts and the suspended game, there have been multiple changes to the Redmen schedule, including the moving of two Concordia games. An updated schedule can be found online
