FREDERICTON --
Robert Sedin of Sunnyvale, Calif., was a model citizen, both on the mound and at the plate as McGill exploded for seven runs in the third inning en route to an 11-1 semifinal victory over Carleton, Saturday,. at the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association championship tournament at Royals Field.
The Redmen (4-0) advanced to Sunday's gold medal game, where they will confront the Holland College Hurricanes (3-1) from Charlottetown in an attempt to capture their second straight national title. The gold medal final is slated for 11 a.m. Eastern and can be followed for free through live

streaming.
All nine hitters in McGill's batting order collected hits as they group combined for 11 runs on 11 hits before the mercy rule was invoked.
Sedin, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound right-hander, scattered four hits and six walks over six innings. He struck out seven and allowed one earned run. Also the team's leadoff hitter, he batted 2-for-4, scoring twice and knocking in two more and merited olayer-of-the-game honours.
The wild third inning was sparked by an RBI single from
Tyler Welence, an error, a two-run home run by
Sam Groleau, an RBI double by
James Pavelick and a two-run single by
Alexander Levis.
Reliever
Charlie Crabb took the loss for Carleton. He allowed eight runs in 2.2 innings, walked none and struck out two.
