Box Score
HANOVER, NH – Laura Stacey, a member of the Canadian U-22 national team from Kleinburg, Ont., scored a power-play goal with 29 seconds remaining to give the Dartmouth Big Green a 2-1 victory over visiting McGill in women's hockey at Thomson Arena, Friday.

The Big Green, who outshot the Martlets 27-19, were the first to score, connecting on a penalty shot, while shorthanded, by Devon Moire, a junior from Toronto, with just nne seconds left in the first period. She received the free attempt after McGill rearguard Emily Davies was called for hooking Moire on a partial breakaway.

McGill tied the score at 12:15 of the middle period when Pamela Psihogios, an industrial relations senior from Laval, Que., converted a pass from Kelsie Moffatt, But Psihogios was later called for hooking at 19:31 of the final stanza, which led to the winning goal by Stacey, a shot that initially looked to be saved by goaltender Taylor Hough but managed to trickle through her legs.

It was the first start of the season for Hough, a 5-foot-10 senior from Toronto who missed the first nine preseason games after a training camp injury. She made 25 saves in a losing cause.

The Martlets went 0-4 on the power play, while Dartmouth went 1-for-3 with a shorthanded marker.

As is common in exhibitions with NCAA teams, the Big Green splitting the goaltending duties between three goalies with Robin Chemago, Shannon Ropp and Christie Honor each making six saves and playing one period. Honor, who was between the pipes when the winning tally was scored, was credited with the victory.

The Big Green will officially open their season on Oct. 23, facing Ivy League and ECAC Hockey opponent Harvard

McGill, which dropped to 3-7 overall and 1-3 against NCAA teams this season, are now 40-59-7 lifetime aganst NCAA schools, including a 4-5-0 record against Dartmouth. The Martlets continue their US road trip in Boston on Saturday with a 12 noon start time against Harvard, before playing Yale in New Haven, Conn., on Sunday at 2 p.m.
