SHERBROOKE -- Thomas Stokes of Vancouver, B.C., tallied a game-high 16 points as the McGill University men's rugby team cruised into Sherbrooke and walked away with a 41-20 conquest over the Vert & Or on Saturday.

Stokes, a political science senior, connected on a pair of penalty kicks and also converted five tries. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound fullback, is second in the RSEQ scoring race with 26 points in three games, 14 points behind Concordia's Joseph Fulginiti.

Quentin Pradere led the Redmen try scorers with a pair, while teammates Marc Webster, Humza Turab and Usman Naqvi added one try apiece.

Kaleb Nimat, who was named as McGill's man of the match, rounding out the scoring with a penalty goal.

For Sherbrooke, Benoit Goyette notched a pair of tries, while Keven Belouin added one. Jean-Francois Varin also had one penalty goal and a conversion.

McGill (2-1), which is tied with Concordia (2-1) and Bishop's (2-1) in a three-way deadlock atop the RSEQ conference standings, will host the Gaiters on Saturday (Oct. 4) at Molson Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.

Fourth-place Sherbrooke (1-3) will host Bishop's on Oct. 8.
