Southpaw Simon Ehrmantraut

OTTAWA -- Robert Sedin of Sunnyvale, Calif., smacked a three-run double in the sixth inning as McGill rallied from a 2-0 deficit and cruised to an 8-3 victory over Carleton in university baseball action at Ottawa Stadium on Sunday afternoon..

It capped a superb week for Sedin, a managment freshman who batted 6-for-15 at the plate -- leading the team to four straight wins. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound infielder racked up 11 RBIs, with a grandslam home run, three doubles, four runs scored, a pair of walks and a .417 on-base percentage.

The result, combined with a noon-hour victory over Ottawa, gave the Redmen their third doubleheader sweep and extended the team's unblemished record to a perfect 8-0 atop the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association's Northern Division standings.

Carleton's poor play in the field contributed to the loss. Carleton gave up two unearned runs while committing four errors over the course of the game.

Carleton jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Carleton got a spark in the form of a Ethan Nodwell double, before before Joe Duggan singled, bringing home Nodwell. More runs came home for Carleton when Duggan scored on an error.

McGill stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring three runs on an error and.

One run in the bottom of the sixth helped Carleton close its deficit to 7-3. An error gave Carleton life. Finally, Simon Ehrmantraut got Duggan to ground out to end the threat.
