SHERBROOKE -- A succesful conversion by
Cameron Perrin on Jordan Nimat's try proved to be the difference as McGill escaped from Sherbrooke with a 7-5 victory to open the RSEQ men's university rugby season, Friday.
Perrin is a history senior from North Vancouver, B.C., while Nimat is a kinesiology freshman from the Sherbrooke area.
Mathieu Lespérance scored Sherbrooke's lone try but the conversion was missed, which proved to be the difference.
McGill (1-0) will travel across the mountain to play the Montreal Carabins on Terrain Vincent d'Indy on Sept. 15 at 4 p.m. The Carabins dropped their opener 48-7 at Bishop's on Friday.
