MONTREAL – Fullback
Cameron Perrin of North Vancouver, B.C., scored 15 points and
Kaleb Nimat of Sherbrooke, Que., added 10 as McGill outlasted Concordia 35-28 in men's university rugby before a crowd of about 500 at Percival Molson Stadium, Saturday.
The result extended McGill's win streak to three as they improved to 3-0 atop the RSEQ league standings.
Perrin, a history senior, registered one try, two penalty goals and a pair of conversions, while Nimat, a kinesiology freshman, tallied two tries. Rounding out the Redmen scoreboard was Ottawa native
Robert Ashe and
James Wilson, a management freshman from London, England, with one try apiece.
Joseph Fulginiti of Ile-Bizard, Que., racked up a game-high 26 points in a losing cause for the Stingers, who slipped to 1-1 and fourth-place in the five-team Quebec conference.
Montrealer David Walsh-Pickering also scored one try for Concordia.
The Stingers are off until Sept. 28, when they travel around to the other side of Mt. Royal to take on the cellar-dwelling Montreal Carabins (0-2).
McGill will host Bishop's (1-1) on Sept. 26 at Molson Stadium.
