LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Helene Bibeau of St. Bruno, Que., scored a game-high 19 points as McGill defeated the Carroll College Saints 61-52 to open the Frontier College Shootout women's basketball tournament at Durango high school in Las Vegas, Friday.

Bibeau, who shot 7-for-16 from the floor, added four rebounds and a pair of steals.

Kalee Jukermier tallied a dozen points to lead the Saints, a team from Montana that plays in the NAIA's nine-team Frontier Conference. The Saints led 28-26 at halftime.

Other leading scorers for McGill included Dianna Ros (9 pts), Marie-Pier Bastrash (8 pts) and Jennifer Silver, who tallied six points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

The Martlets shot 38.5 from the field, 33.3 from three-point range and went 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.

McGill, which improved to 9-2 overall, will play Montana State Northern on Saturday at 3 p.m. Pacific.
