MONTREAL –
Goose Bolton of Darien, Conn., and
Ariane Ducharme from Notre-Dame-des-Prairies, Que., are the McGill University athletes of the week, sponsored by Ye Olde Orchard Pub, for the period ending Sept. 10, 2017.
Bolton, who turns 21 on Sept. 24, is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound attackman with the Redmen lacrosse team. The economics senior scored 11 goals and added two assists in three games as McGill opened regular season play with three victories in four nights, over Carleton (13-3), Nipissing (20-6) and Nipissing again (17-11). He notched hat-tricks in all three contests, including a five-goal, one-assist performance in the 20-6 win over Nipissing on Sept. 19.
Ducharme, a 5-foot-4 freshman forward with the women’s soccer team, scored twice and earned an assist as McGill rallied from an early deficit with four unanswered goals in a 4-1 victory over Sherbrooke at Percival Molson Stadium, last Friday. The 20-year-old architecture freshman, tallied her goals -- including the game-winner -- in the 31st and 35th minutes, after setting up the tying marker in the 29th-minute.
