Brandon Frattaroli of Pierrefonds, Que., and
Olivia Pridham of Stouffville, Ont., are the McGill University athletes of the week, presented by
Restaurant Poulet Rouge, for the period Jan. 5, 2025.
Frattaroli, a 24-year-old industrial relations senior with the men's hockey team, scored three goals, including the game-winner, as McGill skated to a 5-2 victory over visiting UQTR on Sunday. The six-foot-11, 199-pound centre put the Redbirds ahead 3-0 at 2:28 of the second period, then gave the Redbirds a four-goal cushion at the 16-minute mark. He connected for the third time at 15:10 of the final frame to put McGill ahead 5-2. Frattaroli now ranks second among OUA goal leaders and seventh in points with a 13-7-20 record in 17 games. He was recruited to McGill in 2021 after skating four seasons in the QMJHL with Baie Comeau, Quebec and Gatineau.
Pridham, a 21-year-old industrial relations senior with the women's hockey team, scored three points in a 7-4 road loss against the Ottawa Gee-Gees last Saturday. The 5-foot-8 rearguard scored her third goal of the season and added a pair of helpers. The fourth-year blueliner now has 10 goals and 30 points In 108 career contests overall. Prior to enrolling at McGill in 2021, she graduated from Bill Crothers secondary school in Unionville, Ont., and played junior hockey for Durham West Lightning.
