MONTREAL – Gabrielle Davidson of Pte. Claire, Que., and Cameron Perrin of North Vancouver, B.C., are the McGill University athletes of the week, sponsored by Ye Olde Orchard Pub, for the period ending Nov. 17, 2013.

Davidson, a 20-year-old finance sophomore on the women's hockey team, scored five goals and added a pair of assists in two weekend victories. She netted a natural hat-trick in a 5-1 home-ice victory over Concordia last Friday, exploding for second-period goals at 7:28, 10:41 and 13:11 to turn a 1-1 tie into a 4-1 lead. The result extended McGill's win streak to 33 regular season games and Davidson upped her CIS-leading goal total to a dozen in just seven games. On Saturday, she connected twice and set up a last-minute winner as McGill rallied from a two-goal deficit for a 3-2 victory against St. Lawrence University, an NCAA Div.1 team. The 5-foot-4 forward narrowed the gap to 2-1 at 5:09 of the middle period and scored the equalizer at the 14-second mark of the third period. She then assisted on the winner with only 93 seconds remaining in the game. Davidson now has tallied 18 goals in 19 games overall this season. She joined the Martlets in 2012 after graduating from Dawson College.

Perrin, a 21-year-old history senior on the men's rugby team, scored a game-high nine points as McGill defeated the Montreal Carabins 24-5 in an RSEQ rugby sudden-death semifinal at Molson Stadium last Friday. The 5-foot-11, 169-pound fullback kicked one penalty goal and converted all three tries. He is a product of Handsworth Secondary school in Vancouver. McGill has reached the RSEQ championship game for the 13th consecutive year and will host Concordia on Friday night (Nov. 22, 7 p.m.) at Molson Stadium.

Both athletes will receive a gift certificate from Ye Olde Orchard Pub.
