McGill's Latendresse-Regimbald named RSEQ football offensive player of the week

(VERSION FRANÇAISE SUIT)

MONTREAL – Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald of the McGill Redbirds has been named the RSEQ university football offensive player of the week, presented by Go Pure, for the period ending Nov. 1, 2026.

He was honoured alongside Concordia's Coslens Clairveaux, who earned defensive player of the week honours, and Laval's Vincent Gagné, who was recognized on special teams.

The announcement was made Tuesday, just days before the playoffs begin, with 10th-ranked McGill facing No. 3 Montreal in one semifinal Saturday at noon, followed by Concordia taking on top-ranked Laval at 3 p.m. Both games are scheduled to be televised on TVA Sports.

Latendresse-Regimbald, a six-foot-four, 210-pound receiver from Montreal, tied a school record with four touchdowns in a single game as McGill defeated Sherbrooke 49-19 at Percival Molson Stadium last Friday. The victory gave McGill a 5-3 record, marking the team's first winning season since 2002. The 24-year-old Montrealer, selected by Edmonton in the 2026 CFL draft, rushed four times for a game-high 91 yards and two touchdowns, including a spectacular 69-yard scoring run on a quarterback sneak in the opening quarter. He also caught three passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns, finishing with a game-high 190 combined rushing and receiving yards. His four-touchdown performance raised his career total to a McGill-record 35 in 36 regular-season games, leaving him one shy of the RSEQ record established by Laval running back Pierre-Luc Yao between 2003 and 2007.

He is the fourth McGill football player to earn weekly honours from the RSEQ this season, joining linebacker Philippe Bouthot (defence, Oct. 5), running back Jerry Momo (offence, Sept. 8) and defensive back Justin Perron (special teams, Sept. 8).

Clairveaux, a five-foot-11, 172-pound defensive back from Montreal, registered two interceptions and an assisted tackle in Concordia's 31-17 victory over Bishop's last Saturday. The fourth-year communications major helped the Stingers clinch the fourth and final playoff berth in the RSEQ standings.

Gagné, a five-foot-nine, 179-pound defensive back from Quebec City, was credited with three solo tackles and a key fumble recovery in Laval's 25-3 victory over Montreal on Saturday. The 22-year-old business administration sophomore recovered a loose ball at the Carabins' five-yard line following a Laval punt, setting up the Rouge et Or's first touchdown. The victory clinched first place for Laval on the final day of the regular season.
