MONTREAL – The Calgary Stampeders announced on Monday that they have signed defensive back Benjamin Labrosse, the former McGill player who was selected fourth overall in the Canadian Football League Draft late last month.
The six-foot, 189-pound defensive back from Greenfield Park, Que., recently attended rookie mini-camp with the National Football League's New York Giants.
Labrosse, 24, who played CEGEP football for Vanier College, had a 10-game stint in the NCAA with Syracuse before transferring to McGill in 2022. With the Redbirds that season, made 35 tackles in eight regular season games, registering three interceptions and one pass breakup. He earned RSEQ conference all-star status and U SPORTS All-Canadian honours.
