MONTREAL -- Olympian Dori Yeats of Montreal scored three tries but it was insufficient as the McGill University women's rugby team suffered a heart-breaking 24-20 loss to the visiting Bishop's Gaiters at Percival Molson Stadium, Sunday.

The Gaiters, who lost 25-22 to McGill in Week 1, rallied from a 20-12 deficit with a pair of second-half tries -- by Erika Scott (58') and Maya Gordon (69') -- to secure the victory.

As a result, the Gaiters also hold a trump card should the teams end up tied in the standings. They have a slim 46-45 edge in head-to-head point-differential.

Yeats, a 5-foot-3 flanker who wrestled for Canada at the Rio Olympics, put McGill ahead 5-0 in the 15th minute. The civil engineering senior later scored back-to-back tries -- in the 32nd and 40th minutes -- to help McGill bounce back from a 12-5 deficit and take a 15-12 lead into halftime.

Teammate Sophie Montagano added another try seven minutes into the second half to put the Martlets ahead 20-12, setting the stage for the unlikely Gaiters comeback.

A try by Taylor Merrithew narrowed the gap to 20-19 in the 58th minute and Scott's second try of the contest with 11 minutes remaining closed out the scoring.

Katie Shea rounded out the scoring for BU with four points on a 2-for-4 performance on her conversion attempts. McGill's Dana Silerova was 0-for-4 on her attempts.

McGill (1-2) now faces the challenging task of facing Montreal (1-2) once and Concordia (3-0) twice over the final three games of the season in a bid to qualify for playoffs. The Martlets lost 43-19 at home to the Carabins in Week 1 and will travel across Mt. Royal to confront Montreal on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 pm.

Bishop's (1-2) has Concordia once and Montreal twice on their remaining calendar of games. The Gaiters will host the Stingers on  Sept. 21.
