MONTREAL --
Camille Vibert and
Abigail Thomas, both members of the McGill University women's alpine ski team, were among the league all-stars announced by the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec, Monday.
Vibert, a 19-year-old arts freshman, was also named rookie of the year and becomes the first female from McGill to win that award since
Kaylyn Morton in 2005.
The 5-foot-6 native of Orillia, Ont., finished third of 27 skiers in the circuit's scoring race. One of few top scorers to complete all eight races, Vibert's best result was a bronze medal performance in the second-to-last race of the season, a slalom course at Mont Stoneham, near Quebec City. Before joining the Martlets, she competed for the Ontario provincial team.
Thomas, a 20-year-old kinesiology sophomore from Ottawa, represented Canada at the FISU games in Siberia last month. The 5-foot-8 racer finished fourth in the RSEQ scoring race this season. She reached the podium five times in eight races, winning silver twice and bronze three times.
