SHERBROOKE, Que. --
Emma Logan of Chicoutimi, Que., scored one try and added a pair of conversions as McGill rallied from a 12-point deficit to tie Bishop's 26-26 in an RSEQ women's rugby game at Coulter Field on Friday night.
The Martlets trailed 12-0 early on and 19-7 at halftime before clawing back to force a stalemate with 12 minutes remaining in the contest.
It was McGill's first point in the league standings in almost a year, dating a 40-8 home-field victory over Bishop's on Oct. 6, 2017.
Other try scorers for McGill were
Joely Greenbaum of Chicoutimi, Que.,
Mimi Simmons of Chicoutimi, Que., and
Dana Silerova of Chicoutimi, Que., who also added one conversion.
Erika Scott of Dewittville, Que., paced the Gaiters with three tries in a losing cause. Teammate
Quinsea McKenna of Collingwood, Ont., opened the scoring with a try in the ninth minute of the game.
Kaitie Shea of Saint John, N.B., added six points on three conversions.
With two games remaining in the regular season, McGill (0-4-1) trails seventh-place Bishop's (0-3-2) by one point in the RSEQ standings. The Martlets will travel to the nation's capital to confront third-place Carleton (3-2-0) on Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. Two days later, the Gaiters play at division-leading Ottawa (4-0-0).
