LENNOXVILLE, Que. -- Senior
Frederique Potvin of Ste. Julie, Que., scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the No.2 ranked McGill women's basketball team rallied from a 10-point deficit to defeat Ryerson 72-61 to open the Bishop's Holiday Tournament, Friday.
It was the first game in 34 days for the Martlets, who led 21-17 after the opening quarter but trailed 35-32 at halftime and 53-51 after three stanzas. McGill finally took control with a decisive fourth quarter, outscoring the Rams 21-8.
Potvin shot 7-for-15 in the game, including a 5-for-10 performance from three-point range. She also went 3-for-6 from the free-throw line and was credited with three steals, three assists and one blocked shot in 28 minutes of court time.
Teammates
Marie-Love Michel of Montreal and
Alex Kiss-Rusk of Beaconsfield, Que., also reached double digits.
Michel netted 17 points with seven rebounds, while Kiss-Rusk played a game-high 37 minutes and registered a "double-double" with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Bin-Edward and Kiss-Rusk were named as players of the game.
The Martlets shot 40.6 per cent from the floor (28/64), 32.0 from the arc (8/25) and 70.6 from the charity stripe (12/17). The Rams shot 36.5 per cent from the field (23/63), 30.8 from downtown (4/13) and 64.7 from the line (11/17).
McGill, which improved to 12-3 overall, will confront UNB on Saturday at 1 p.m. Ryerson (12-4) plays Bishop's at 3 p.m.
