MONTREAL -- Four members of the McGill University badminton team have merited all-conference honours from the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec.  On the men's side, Alan Shekhtman and Marcus Waskiw-Ford were both named first-team all-stars, while Connor Tannas was selected to the second squad. On the women's side, Anne Ying Wu earned second-team status.

Waskiw-Ford, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound Montrealer, led McGill with a stellar 21-2 record on the season and helped the Redmen to finish second of seven teams, their best finish in decades.  The graduate student in kinesiology and physical education posted a 13-1 record in men's singles and was 8-1 in mixed doubles, partnered with Ying Wu.

Shekhtman is a 5-foot-8, 150-pound management sophomore from Newton, Mass. He had a 10-1 record in men's singles and 2-0 in men's doubles, for a combined 12-1 overall.

Tannas, a six-foot, 140-pound arts freshman from Calgary, registered a 15-5 record in men's doubles.

Wu, a 5-foot-1, physiology junior from Kanata, Ont., compiled an 11-8 overall record. She was 2-4 in women's singles, 0-3 in doubles and went 9-1 in mixed doubles, playing primarily alongside Waskiw-Ford. She is the first member of the Martlets to earn RSEQ badminton all-conference honours since the 2011-12 season.
