Their strong play continued in the second half as they outscoring the Lions 19-14 in the third frame on route to a 19-point margin of victory.

Michael Peterkin was the only Redmen to reach double digits in scoring wiyth a dozen points. The third-year economic major came off the bench and shot the ball well, making five of 10 attempts from the floor and going 2-for-4 from the line. He also chipped in four rebounds, one assist and a steal.

McGill shot 39.4 per cent from the floor (28/71), 35.4 from three-point range (11/31) and 52.6 from the charity stripe (10/19). The Lions connected on 32.8, 22.2 and 72.7, respectively.

The Redmen, a strong rebounding team that often hits the 50-rebound plateau per game, were surprisingly outmuscled on the glass as York had a 30-28 edge in that department. McGill however, had a 9-2 edge in blocks, a 7-5 margin in steals and 16-15 advantage in turnovers.
