MONTREAL — Ryan Thorne, head coach of the McGill University men's basketball program, has been reappointed as a consultant with the coaching staff of the Montreal Alliance of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

The upcoming campaign will mark his fifth season working with the Alliance in the summer pro league, which operates from mid-May through August.

Thorne will enter his sixth year with the McGill Redbirds in 2026-27. He owns a career coaching record of 314-306 at McGill, including 17 seasons as head coach of the women's team.

The Alliance is led by Jermaine Small, who enters his second season as head coach. The coaching staff also includes Damian Buckley, a former Concordia all-star who was recently named interim head coach of the Stingers; Jahmal Jones, a former Toronto Metropolitan University standout; and newcomer Jeff Dosado, a Montreal native who has worked with the Houston Rockets during NBA training camps.

The Alliance has also bolstered its player development program with the additions of Montrealers Maxime Paulhus-Gosselin, who played at NCAA Division I Davidson College alongside Stephen Curry, and Kyle Desmarais, a former assistant coach at McGill.

The front office is led by general manager Joel Anthony and assistant GM Ibrahim Appiah. Other staff include Henry Weinberg (director of scouting and analysis). The medical team features Dr. Mickey Moroz, a physician at the McGill Sport Medicine Clinic, along with Manley Massenat (kinesiologist and physical trainer) and Nicolas Rostworoswski (athletic therapist).

The Alliance opens its 2026 home schedule May 15 at Verdun Auditorium against the Scarborough Shooting Stars.

Thorne amorcera une sixième année à la barre des Redbirds de McGill en 2026-2027. Il présente un dossier en carrière de 314 victoires contre 306 défaites à McGill, dont 17 saisons comme entraîneur-chef de l'équipe féminine.

L'Alliance est dirigée par Jermaine Small, qui entreprend une deuxième saison comme entraîneur-chef.
