MONTREAL --
Robert Sedin of Sunnyvale, Calif., and
Alexandra Tinfow of Westfield, N.J., are the McGill University athletes of the week, sponsored by Ye Olde Orchard Pub, for the period ending Sept. 14, 2014.
Sedin, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound third baseman, led the baseball Redmen to four victories over the week, extending the team's unblemished record to 8-0 in league play. The first-year diploma student in entrepreneurship batted 6-for-15 at the plate, racking up 11 RBIs, with a grandslam home run, three doubles, four runs scored, a pair of walks and a .417 on-base percentage. He transferred to McGill this year after a playing career with the University of California San Diego.
Tinfow, a 5-foot-5 midfielder with the soccer Martlets, scored three goals and added an assist in two games. She scored the tying goal in a 2-2 draw with UQAM last Thursday and added a pair of goals with one assist in 3-0 shutout over Bishop's on Sunday. The 19-year-old biology sophomore is a product of Westfield high school.
Both athletes will receive a gift certificate from Ye Olde Orchard Pub.
