MONTREAL —
William Rouleau scored 5:44 into overtime to lift No. 8 McGill past the Concordia Stingers 4–3 in OUA men's hockey, Saturday at Ed Meagher Arena.
McGill led 1–0 after one, 3–2 after two, conceded the tying goal with 1:17 left, then won it in the extra frame to nudge ahead 120-119-14 in the all-time series dating to 1975.
Alexandre Lallier opened on a first-period power play from
Charles-Antoine Dumont and
Xavier Fortin at 12:15. Dumont made it 2–0 early in the second before
Nicholas Girouard replied for the Stingers.

Alexandre Gagnon restored the two-goal cushion, but Stingers' captain
Simon Lavigne pulled Concordia to within one at 13:43 of the middle stanza and then tied it with the goalie pulled for an extra attcker at 18:43 of the third. Rouleau ended it on a feed from
Mathieu Gagnon and Dumont.
Concordia outshot McGill 23–21 overall. McGill's
Nicolas Ruccia was the winner with 20 saves, while Concordia's Nikolas Hurtubise stopped 17 in defeat; both goaltenders made numerous spectacular saves that kept the game on a knife edge. McGill went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Concordia finished 0-for-3.
Concordia (2-4-1) visits division-leading UQTR (7-1-0) on Oct. 29, while McGill (5-2-1) travels to Kingston for a scary Halloween tilt at Queen's (3-5-0) on Friday at 7:30 p.m, followed by a confrontation with Royal Military College on Saturday (Nov. 1) at 2 p.m..
