MONTREAL -- Emmanuel Owootoah scored a game-high 22 points as the visiting Brock University Badgers defeated McGill 82-59 in ,en's preseason basketball at Love Competition Hall, Friday.

The Badgers led 22-18 after the opening quarter and 38-36 at halftime, then took control by outscoring the home team 22-15 in the third and 22-8 in the final stanza. Brock had a huge 43-24 margin in rebounds and won the turnover battle 22-18.

Sam Jenkins and freshman Charles Couture paced McGill with 11 points apiece, while Quarry Whyne added 10.

Joining Owootoah in double-digit scoring for Brock was Godsman Kwakwah (18 pts, 10 rbs), Kascius Small-Martin (13 pts) and Daniel Cayer (13 pts).

The Badgers shot 45.2 per cent from the floor (33/73), 36.8 from the three-point arc (7/19) and 75.0 from the foul-line (9/12). McGill replied with 32.3 (20/62), 24.1 97/29) and 63.2 (12/19), respectively.

McGill (3-5) will host Alberta (4-0) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
