Alexia Remillard of Repentigny, Que., scored the game-winner and
Annabelle Matysiak of Vancouver, B.C., earned a shutout as McGill blanked the UQTR Patriotes 2-0 in RSEQ women's soccer at Stade Gilles-Doucet, Friday.
The victory gave McGill a two-game season sweep over UQTR for the first time since the 2016 season and improved the Martlets to 2-1-3 against the Pats over that span.
Rémillard, a 20-year-old nursing student, broke a scoreless deadlock two minutes into the second half. It was her second of the season, both of them game-winners, including the lone strike in a 1-0 win against Bishop's on Sept. 29.

Sarah Smyth of Burnaby, B.C., tallying an assist on the play.
Matysiak, a 5-foot-6 goalkeeper, made six saves -- including an acrobatic stretch save on the final kick of the game -- to collect her third clean sheet in the last four matches. past . The 19-year-old sophomore has not conceded a goal in 187 consective minutes.
Florence Bilodeau made nine saves in a losing cause for UQTR.
Both teams play againon Oct. 18 in their penultimate fixtures of the season. McGill (7-4-1) clings to the fourth and final playoff berth when it meets Sherbrooke (0-10-1) at 6 p.m. while UQTR (1-8-2) visits third-place Laval (8-3-1).
