TROIS-RIVIERES, Que. -- Marie-Laurence Ouellet scored in the 84th minute as the UQTR Patriotes salvaged a 1-1 draw against visiting McGill in a crucial women soccer game at Stade Gilles Doucet, Sunday.

The result preserved UQTR's four-point cushion ahead of fourth-place McGill in the eight-team RSEQ conference. With five games remaining for both teams, the third-place Patriotes own a 5-1-3 record, while the Martlets are at 4-3-2.

Natasha Tcheki-Jamgotchian, a senior defender from Pierrefonds, Que., had opened the scoring for McGill in the 31st minute of play.

Goalkeeper Gabrielle Lambert made six saves between the pipes for the Pats, while Sarah Dubois was credited with five stops for the Martlets.
