MONTREAL -- Opposing goalkeepers Sarah Dubois and Gabrielle Lambert each registered a four-save shutout, respectively, as McGill and division-leading UQTR battled to a scoreless draw in RSEQ women's university soccer at Percival Molson Stadium, Wednesday.

It was the second consecutive scoreless draw between these clubs, dating back to Oct. 13, 2017 and improved UQTR's undefeated streak against McGill to 1-0-2 since the Pats snapped a four-game skid to McGill last year.

The Martlets, who improved to 2-1-1, held territorial advantage against the undefeated Patriotes (2-0-2), maintaining ball possession for 64 per cent of the game, to go along with a 16-7 edge in shots attempted and a 5-1 margin in corner-kicks.

"I'm happy with the way we played, we created numerous opportunities and limited a tough opponent to very few," said Jose-Luis Valdes, in his sixth season as head coach at McGill. "Especially our structure and how well-organized we were on the backline. That said, we missed numerous chances offensively, including a shot off the goalpost.With a little bit of luck, we would have had a different result."

It was the second goose-egg in four regular season starts for Dubois, a 5-foot-8 chemical engineering senior from Edmonton. Pats' 'keeper Lambert, a 5-foot-9 freshman from St. Hyacinthe, Que., now has posted shutouts in each of her first two starts at the university level.

The RSEQ standings are now looking more congested than a day in Montreal traffic, with four points separating first from fifth place in the eight-team circuit.

Both teams play next on Sunday (Sept. 16), with McGill at Laval (1-0-2) and UQTR hosting UQAM (1-1-1).
