MONTREAL - Two longtime foes will be crossing paths in post-season play for the 20th time this week when the UQTR Patriotes hook up with the McGill Redmen, currently ranked No.3 in Canada, in an OUA East men's hockey semifinal best-of-three affair.
The series opens on Wednesday (Feb. 22) at 7 p.m. in McConnell Arena, located at 3883 University Street, just north of Percival Molson Stadium. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday, 4 p.m. at Le Colisee in Trois-Rivieres. If a rubber match is needed, it will be back at McConnell on Sunday at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for McGill students and staff, as well as senior citizens.

McGill won three of four meetings with the Pats this season, sweeping a pair of preseason games 6-2 and 2-1. In the regular campaign, UQTR won 3-1 in Montreal (Oct. 22) but the Redmen took the rematch 6-5 in Trois-Rivieres (Nov. 5). McGill outscored the Pats by a combined 15-11 margin and outshot them 144-116. The Redmen were 3-for-24 on the power-play (12.5%), while UQTR was 4-for-25 (16.0%).
In 19 previous playoff confrontations, the Pats won the first 11 series but McGill has roared back to take seven of the last eight. In games played, UQTR owns a lifetime 27-19 record in 46 post-season meetings. The Pats also have a lifetime edge over McGill with a 157-79-17 record in 253 meetings overall, including 63-51-8 in Montreal, a 91-26-9 mark in Trois-Rivieres.
McGill's leading point-getter during the regular season was
Mathieu Pompei with 33 points, including nine goals, in 23 games. But his status is uncertain for the opener as he is recovering from an injury suffered while playing for Canada at the FISU Winter Games in Kazakhstan.
In the post-season, rookie
Guillaume Gauthier leads the Redmen with three goals in two games. Other playoff marksmen include team captain

Frederic Gamelin.
For the Patriotes,
Pierre-Olivier Morin led the way during the season with a 12-22-34 record in only 22 contests. In the post-season,

Carl-Antoine Delisle (2),
Marc-Olivier Mimar,
Jeremy Beaudry and
Charles-David Beaudoin.
