SHERBROOKE -- Sophomore Mehdi Ibn-Brahim of Montreal, tallied twice including the winning goal as the visiting McGill University men's soccer team came from behind to upend Sherbrooke 3-2 in a wild RSEQ game, Sunday, at Stade Nouveau Concorde.

The Redmen improved their undefeated streak versus Sherbrooke to 7-0-1, dating back to a 4-2 loss on Oct. 6, 2013.

Ibn-Brahim, a 5-foot-6, 155-pound striker, broke a 1-1 tie in the 49th minute then snapped a 2-2 deadlock in the 73rd to give McGill the win.

The Vert & Or had opened the scoring on a goal by Othmane El Fathi in the 37th minute of play, but Mohamed Kleit, a fifth-year electrical engineering senior from Outremont, Que., evened things up at 1-1 in the dying seconds of the first half.

Sherbrooke defender Mathieu Loyer knotted the score at 2-2 in the 61st minute but Ibn-Brahim saved the day for McGill with his second tally of the half.

Rookie goalkeeper Theo Farineau, a native of France, made two saves on four shots and earned Game MVP honours for McGill. Midfielder Alexandre Cadier was named player of the match for the Vert & Or. Losing 'keeper Guillaume Proulx also had a pair of saves, on five shots.

The Redmen had a 6-3 advantage in corners, a 5-4 edge in shots on goal and drew 13 fouls while committing eight.

The league has a one-week break for the Thanksgiving break before teams return to play on Oct. 13, when fourth-place McGill puts their 3-3-1 record to the test with a home game against UQTR, which sits just two points behind with a 2-3-2 record. Kickoff is slated for 8:15 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium. Sherbrooke (0-7-0) visits Montreal (7-0-0) that same evening.
