QUEBEC CITY -- Bastien Aussems of France netted a hat trick as the Laval Rouge et Or quadrupled McGill 4-1 in men's university soccer, Sunday, at Terrain PEPS.

It was Laval's sixth straight victory against the Redmen dating back to a 1-1 tie on Sept. 27, 2013 and extended their undefeated streak against McGill to 9-0-1 since forfeiting a game on Sept. 18, 2011.

Aussems, a six-foot, 180-pound striker, scored his first of the afternoon in the 29th minute before adding two more in quick succession during the 57th minute. The 23-year-old leads the league in scoring with five goals and one assist.

Laval's other marker came in the 19th minute from Philippe Renaud of Quebec City.

McGill freshman Raphael Tepe, a 5-foot-10 striker from England, broke goalkeeper Nizar Houhou's bid for a shutout in the 86th minute. He turned aside the three other shots faced for the victory.

Redmen 'keeper Lambert Drainville, a freshman from Montreal, made two saves on six shots and took the loss.

Laval had a 13-6 advantage in shots attempted, but only a 6-4 edge in shots on net. The Rouge et Or had a 5-3 edge in cornerkicks and committed 12 fouls, one more than the Redmen.

McGill (2-2-0) will host UQAM (1-0-3) at 8 p.m. on Sept. 30 for the annual "Pack the Pitch" game at Percival Molson Stadium. Laval (2-1-2) visits Concordia (2-2-1) on Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m.
