LENNOXVILLE, Que. --
Tia Lore of Richmond B.C., scored twice as the McGill Martlets blanked Bishop's 2-0 in RSEQ women's soccer at Coulter Field on Sunday.
The Martlets had a 15-10 lead in shots, a 6-2 advantage in corners, and committed 11 fouls to the Gaiters' 15.
Lore, a 5-foot-6 sociology sophomore, buried both her goals in the opening half with clean strikes from transition plays. Her first came in the 17th minute with an assist from
Claudia Agozzino of St. Leonard, Que.
Lisa Perrett of Vancouver earned the helper on the second goal, in the 41st minute. Lore also led all players with five attempted shots, including four on target
"Everybody got on the field," noted Martlets head coach
Jose Luis Valdes of the win. "We were able to rotate some players in and get some valuable minutes for young players to gain confidence and rhythm."
McGill goalkeeper
Sarah Dubois, a chemical engineering senior from Edmonton, Alta., made five stops to earn her second clean sheet of the regular season.
Rebecca Bensimon stopped five of seven shots for Bishop's.
Both teams next play on Oct. 6, when McGill (3-2-2) visits Montreal (6-0-1) and Bishop's (0-6-1) hosts Concordia (1-5-1).
