MONTREAL -- Goose Bolton scored six goals and Rhys Burnell added four more as McGill celebrated their annual Homecoming game by routing visiting Carleton 16-4 in Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association play at Percival Molson Stadium, Saturday.

The Redmen led 4-1 after the opening quarter, 7-4 at halftime and 12-4 after three. They scored an incredible 10 unanswered goals over the final 44 minutes of play. The game featured only seven penalties, all but one of them called against the Redmen.

Bolton, who had a hat-trick before the game was 15 minutes old, added an assist to finish with seven points.

Spencer Bromley registered a six-point soiree, including a pair of goals. Teammate Cyrus Wickersham, a freshman from Falmouth, Mass., added a pair. Rounding out the scoring for McGill was Christian Barker and Maxime Murdoch.  Co-captain Emile Sassone-Lawless added four helpers.

Replying for the Ravens with one goal apiece was Cam Breen, Noah Hoselton, Aaron Woods and Sam Robillard.

Collecting the victory between the pipes for McGill was senior William Waesche, who saved 10 of 14 shots to lower his league-leading goals-against to a stingy 6.51.

Simon Bellamy went the distance in net for the Ravens and was saddled with the loss. He made 11 saves on 27 shots. Carleton (1-10) will host Bishop's (4-5) on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The second-place Redmen improved to 8-1 in the seven-team CUFLA East Division, two points behind division-leading Trent (9-0). McGill can clinch second place when they host Ottawa (2-6) at Percival Molson Stadium on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

REDMEN RAP: Sophomore Alex Beckes won an astonishing 84 per cent of his faceoffs, claiming victory in 16 of his 19 draws... The game was preceded an alumni game that featured more than two dozen former McGill players scrimmaging against the younger non-starting players on the Redmen roster, a 19-man group that featured 12 freshmen... The alumni won 7-6.
