Emilie Matte de Grasse and
Catherine Amyot each scored a game-high 17.5 points, leading McGill to a 3-0 sweep over visiting Laval in RSEQ women's volleyball action at Love Competition Hall, Saturday.
The Martlets, who extended their unblemish record to 6-0 in league play, won by set scores of 25-18, 27-25 and 25-23.
It was the first time that the provincial rivals had crossed paths since Laval swept McGill on Feb. 7, knocking the Martlets out of a playoff berth.
Matte de Grasse, a 5-foot-10 sophomore power-hitter from Montreal, racked up 15 kills, a pair of aces, six digs and an assisted block.
Amyot, an engineering senior from Ottawa who also stands 5-foot-10, collected 13 kills, three aces, 1.5 stuff blocks and an assist.
Fifth-year setter
Yasmeen Dawoodjee had a game-high 34 assists with a pair of kills and eight digs.
McGill had a 40-37 edge in kills, a 7-5 advantage in aces and a 7-6 margin in stuff blocks.
The Martlets will put their undefeated record on the line in Sherbrooke (5-1) on Sunday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m. Laval (3-5) will host the Vert & Or on Nov. 14.
